CNAM Announces Money For Municipalities To Help Municipalities Improve Their Access To Government Grants

Calgary, AB (May 2, 2018) – The Canadian Network of Asset Managers (CNAM) reported today that it has entered into a 5-year agreement with The Funding Portal Inc. (Fundingportal) which is intended to help Canadian municipalities improve their access to government grants and incentives.

CNAM is a national-based Association with approximately 400 members drawn from cities and municipalities across Canada. Its mission is to advance best practices in asset management through leadership, innovation and collaboration.

Fundingportal provides technology services and solutions to help organizations get funded. More than 20,000 organizations use its platform every month to source and secure government grants and incentives.

Under the agreement, Fundingportal will provide participating CNAM Members with a custom work-up on the appropriate grants and incentives to support their municipal projects, and help them secure these funds through their grant writing expertise. The agreement also calls for Fundingportal presenting a plenary session and hosting a trade booth at the CNAM Annual Conference in Windsor in May, 2018, providing up-to-date news and information on government funding opportunities and establishing the new Money For Municipalities Funding Hub on the CNAM website at cnam.ca/funding.

John Murray, Chair of the Board of Directors of CNAM, said, “The partnership with Fundingportal will help our Members select the right funds to finance their priorities, and the expert services required to “get funded”. This new partnership is wholly aligned with our vision of fostering excellence in public infrastructure asset management”.

Fundingportal CEO Teri Kirk said, “CNAM Members will benefit from our unique data-driven insights into access to government grants and incentives using today’s online tools”. Ms. Kirk was recognized in 2016-2017 as a top Entrepreneur and Innovator by the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance for her work making public sector funding more open and accessible.
