MISSISSAUGA, (March 11, 2024) – PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada (PEMAC) and the Canadian Network of Asset Managers Association (CNAM) proudly announce the organizations have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a strategic partnership which promotes mutual benefits, provides reciprocal support, and the exchange of ideas, information, technology and best practices in infrastructure asset management.
With recognition of each other’s shared interest in the knowledge transfer of best practices in asset management, the MOU creates the opportunity to broaden the ability to transfer knowledge nationally and regionally in a manner which benefits communities and municipalities managing assets, and the users of the assets, and contributes to the global discussion on asset management.
“The signing of this MOU recognizes the strategic partnership between PEMAC and CNAM, and our shared commitment to promoting asset management in Canada”, commented Bernadette O’Connor, Chair of CNAM.
“PEMAC’s presence in the municipal sector has grown tremendously over the past few years, particularly with the Government of Canada’s funding of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Municipal Asset Management Program”, noted Nigel D’Souza, PEMAC President. “A strategic partnership with CNAM is a logical progression in supporting asset management professionals working with municipalities”.
This MOU identifies opportunities for collaboration in the development of municipal infrastructure asset management best practices and competencies, including encouraging and promoting member attendance and participation at each organization’s conferences and events, encouraging members of each organization to attend and lecture at the other organization’s events and activities to foster the exchange of ideas and impart their knowledge of the profession and for a CNAM member to sit on PEMAC’s Public Sector Committee.
