Speaker: Dr. Steve Kokelj, Senior Permafrost Scientist at the Northwest Territories Geological Survey

For over 20 years, Dr. Steve Kokelj has been a leading expert on permafrost in Canada’s Northwest Territories. Working alongside international scientists, regulators, and Indigenous communities, he investigates the impacts of climate change on northern landscapes and infrastructure.

Dr. Kokelj leads a dedicated team at the Northwest Territories Geological Survey, tackling critical challenges faced by northern stakeholders. In this knowledge pod, hear how his research sheds light on some of the world’s most rapidly changing permafrost environments.
