Akeel is an emerging and enthusiastic professional within the Asset Management community. He is currently working as an Associate consultant with SLBC INC.– a Canadian-based firm which offers management consulting and asset management services to client across various sectors. Throughout his career, Akeel has been exposed to a widespread of Asset Management projects across North America. Akeel has helped many organizations along their Asset Management journey by assisting them in developing Asset Management Plans, Asset Management Policies, Risk Management Plans, Governance Model Frameworks, Asset Management System Requirements, Asset/Maintenance Management Strategies and more.

Greg Cockburn has been with the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) in the role as Asset Management Coordinator since November 2019. Prior to that, he worked at WSP and previously Opus International Consultants (Canada) as a Transportation Engineer (EIT) and Asset Management Consultant. As Asset Management Coordinator, his primary role is to configure and implement the asset management system across CSRD to improve service delivery and financial sustainability. He is also the chair of the Asset Management Steering Committee at CSRD and has the lead role in configuration of the asset management software for all departments.

Mahendra is an Information Technology (IT) professional involved with project management, business analysis, technology solution implementations, IT service management, people change management and delivering to client needs. Recent related projects include cloud platform implementations, application integrations, data privacy/security, data analytics, and business process improvements.

After graduating with a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from NAIT in 1996, Ian started his career with the City of Grande Prairie Engineering Department. In 2003, he moved to Aquatera Utilities where he has held roles as Project Technologist, Asset Manager and currently as Infrastructure Services Manager. During his time with Aquatera he has managed numerous water and wastewater capital projects, subdivision development inspections and asset management initiatives. Since 2018, he oversaw Aquatera’s implementation of a corporate asset management and CMMS software program, allowing Aquatera to manage their assets more effectively, plan maintenance work and track key performance indicators.

Sam is a graduate of the civil engineering program from the University of Waterloo. He is the Director of Enterprise Asset Management for the Region of Peel. Sam has extensive experience in both the municipal sector as well as the field of asset management. Previously he has held several senior management roles in the consulting field as well as in municipal government. In his capacity as a senior administrator he has gained an extensive background in asset management, project delivery, climate change adaptation, financial planning, policy development, budget preparation and strategic planning. He has led and implemented tactical projects as well as comprehensive asset management initiatives. Sam has participated on several committees including OMBI, Ontario Public Works Association and the National Research Council. Currently he is a member of the ISO 55000 mirror committee and was on the expert panel that assisted the Province in the development of the regulations for Bill 6. He is the Chair of Asset Management Ontario, past chair of OSCI and past President of the Ontario Public Works Association.
