PEMAC: Leveraging Asset Manager Data & Information Course
Registration Open for New Leveraging Asset Master Data Course
Mississauga, – PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada (PEMAC), in collaboration with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) announces registration is open for the new, innovative Leveraging Asset Master Data Course.
Beginning December 5th, the six week, live online offering equips municipal teams with essential knowledge and tools for optimized maintenance and service delivery. The course covers how to leverage data analytics in maintenance management, reliability best practices and methods to minimize asset lifecycle costs and risk exposure.
Municipalities facing complex challenges in asset management, such as incomplete or inaccurate inventory data, delays in transferring data after capital projects and difficulty in setting up effective maintenance management programs, will find the course provides tangible solutions.
“PEMAC’s AM for Public Sector committee has noted that for decades many municipalities have struggled with collecting and setting up maintenance, reliability and asset management master data”, commented Nicolle Guillen, Education Manager at PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada. “As a result, we have designed a course for municipal senior leaders and staff to shift the approach of data collection and set up to save municipalities money, improve service delivery and reduce risk over the lifecycle of equipment and infrastructure”.
The first cohort completed the course on October 25th. “The course provided our cross-functional team with a deeper understanding of our gaps and an appreciation for collecting and sharing the right data across our organization throughout the lifecycle of our assets”, noted participant Barrett Froc, Certified Asset Management Professional, Senior Project Management Engineer, City of Saskatoon. “Learning to effectively leverage our asset master data and information between the operations, maintenance and reliability group, the capital team, together with other departments, will allow us to make better decisions across the organization.”
Course results and other findings will be organized into a whitepaper and case study entitled: “Master Data Configuration During Acquisition for Maintenance and Operational Readiness” which will serve as an effective tool for municipal practitioners to utilize. Visit pemac.org for more details.
This initiative is offered through the Municipal Asset Management Program, which is delivered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and funded by the Government of Canada.
