AM101 – Asset Management Awareness Virtual Course
CNAM’s renowned AM Awareness Course has been revamped, expanded, and is now available as 2 separate courses!
Throughout 2020 CNAM has been working hard to make its AM awareness courses even better, with updated content and even more interactive exercises. We are very excited to launch the new AM101 and AM102 courses in parallel for 2021.
AM101 and 102 will be run in three separate online sessions (Week 1: AM101, Week 2&3: AM102). Sign up for 101, 102, or both! AM101 is not a pre-requisite for AM102, however we recommend it for anyone new to AM, or for those looking for a refresher of core AM concepts. AM101 is FREE for CNAM members. Those interested in a CNAM membership can also take advantage of our new member bundle where they will receive the free admission to AM101, and a member discount to AM102.

These courses are relevant for all communities and municipalities, regardless of size, location, or progress with asset management. The sessions are appropriate for Elected Officials and Municipal / Community / Organization Staff of all levels. CNAM’s original awareness course has been delivered to over 300 municipal staff and elected officials, both virtually and in-person. Participants overwhelmingly report strong satisfaction with the course and an improved understanding of AM.
AM101 Course Description
AM101 is a single 3-hour interactive session where participants will learn what asset management is, and why it is important. This includes an overview of the state of infrastructure in Canada and an analysis of common challenges faced by asset managers.
Electronic Professional Development Certificates for 3 CEC/PDH hours will be awarded upon completion of the course and FCM activity evaluation survey.
CNAM may postpone or reschedule virtual courses if the minimum threshold of participants is not met.

The courses have been optimized for virtual delivery and materials will continue to be distributed electronically prior to course commencement. Participants will be responsible for printing and the associated costs should they choose to do so.
Looking for a private course for your organization, association or agency? We can help with that too. CNAM’s course can be delivered ‘on-demand’ and setup privately for your organization / staff / members. We’ve done this for a number of members and partners over the years. Presently, all courses are being held virtually, however we hope to make in person events available again soon. For more information and pricing on this option please email admin@cnam.ca.
