*The content in this Web Portal is a beta release and is currently being reviewed and refined*
The Canadian Network of Asset Managers (CNAM) has taken its Asset Management Competency Framework for Canadian Communities (AMCF) and expanded it into this comprehensive online resource for improving the AM capacity of public sector organizations in Canada and enhancing the capabilities of AM practitioners in those organizations.
Access to the AM Competency Framework is available to everyone, free of charge. But, to access all of the content, features and tools you will need to sign into your CNAM account OR create a complimentary “AMCF Access” account.
The AMCF Web Portal expands upon the original AMCF document delivered in February 2020 in an easy to use, accessible, and openly available format. This web portal also contains new features not included in the original document, including new templates and tools, improved AM Competency descriptions, new AM Functional Areas and AM Roles, and more! (Go to the AMCF Development Process section for full details.)
The development of this web portal will be an ongoing process as we look to add more features, resources and content to help you and your organization with your competency management activities. CNAM welcomes your feedback and suggestions on improving the AMCF Web Portal. Please provide your comments to competency@cnam.ca.
This portal provides a more user-friendly way to engage with the AMCF content, allowing users more freedom to find what they need when they need it. It also allows for more opportunities to create customized strategies for individual AM Competency development and organizational AMCF implementation.
New to Competency Management? Start with an overview of Competency Management terminology, uses, benefits, and challenges on the About Competency Management page.
New to the AM Competency Framework? begin with the content in the Framework section to familiarise yourself. Going through this section will allow you to review the framework itself, as well as the AM competencies, functional areas, and responsibilities.
Wondering if the AMCF applies to you or your organization? Make sure to read the Who is the AMCF For? page.
Want to apply the AMCF to your organization? Check out the Implementation section to review a step-by-step process on how to tailor and apply the AMCF within your organization.
Want to use the AMCF for individual improvement? Check out the Development section for strategies on defining your AM role, assessing competency proficiency, creating a competency development roadmap, and planning your AM career.
This initiative is offered through the Municipal Asset Management Program (MAMP), which is delivered by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), and funded by the Government of Canada.
