Description
The AM Career Framework provides an overview of the generic asset management roles that are included in the AMCF materials and how they can be used to develop AM positions in an organization or be assigned to existing positions in an organization. It can also be used as a reference guide for Asset Management professionals looking to plan their own career progression.
Remember that each role does not necessarily represent someone’s job title or position. Rather, the AM Roles are simply a bundle of AM responsibilities. Those responsibilities may form all of, or only a part of, someone’s job position.
Individuals can use this career framework, in conjunction with the competency profiles detailed in the AM Functional Areas and Roles pages, to help identify options for moving to another AM position aligned with one or more of the AM Roles on the framework. They can also use the AMCF to help identify learning and development opportunities based on the career progression goals of the user.
Organizations, through AM managers and HR specialists, can use the AM Career Framework and AM Role competency profiles to engage in workforce planning and succession planning for their organizations.
